ISRO satellite launch:A historic launch

ISRO satellite launch:It's a great day for India as it sets a new record by sending 104 satellites in one go.

At 9.28 am today, PSLV-37 successfully lifted off from the spaceport at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The lifts off ISRO’s PSLV C37 from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota on February 15, 2017. This is the launch vehicles 39th journey to space.

The satellites will be injected into the sun-synchronous orbit, which is about 500 km above the earth. These are earth observation satellites and will be in the same orbit.Out of the 104 satellites three are Indian, 88 are from the US based company PLANET and the rest from Germany, Israel, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. It takes about 90 minutes for the spacecraft to complete one polar orbit over the earth. Indian scientist's have taken a large amount of effort to bring this up as a successful one.As India paved the way for launching large number of satellites in a single launch ,sooner or later other countries will also try to launch like this. But India has the of launching it first.

THINGS TO KNOW:
A Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C37) which weighs 320 tonne, will launch the satellites with a combined weight of 1,500 kg, including the 650 kg Cartosat-2D and two nano-satellites (INS-1A and INS-1B) weighing 15 kg each.

The group of 88 small satellites of the US  will be separated from the rocket in different directions to avoid collision when being deployed in the orbit.
This flock of 88 satellites will take Planet’s constellation to 100 and create the most detailed imagery of the earth’s surface.

Cartosat-2D is an advanced remote sensing satellite which has a single panchromatic camera to beam scene-specific spot imageries of more than one meter spatial resolution and a swath of 10 km for cartographic applications.
It will be used for producing high-resolution images of the Indian landmass.

The two Inertial Navigational System (INS-IA & INS-1B) use a computer, motion sensors and rotation sensors (gyroscopes) to calculate the position, orientation and velocity (direction and speed) of a moving object without external references.

EVENTS and TIME chart:

Before this the Indian space agency had launched 20 satellites in one shot on June22,2016.
Now India has surpassed all the records set before by Russia (launching 37 satellites )and NASA(launching 29 satellites).
